Hello friends!
It has been quite some time since I updated my blog, but that only means that I have been busy spreading the message of the Miss America Organization! If you have been following me on Facebook or Twitter @maotravels and @missamericalive, you know exactly what I’ve been up to!

This last month has flown by! I started off the month at the Miss Kentucky pageant where I met up with some of my Miss America sisters, Miss America 2004 Ericka Dunlap and Miss America 2000 Heather French Henry. It’s always fun to be with my sisters because we’re such a diverse group, but all share a common bond. I helped to crown Miss Kentucky 2010 Djuan Trent, and had a great time visiting all of our volunteers in Kentucky. All of our state titleholders are all now crowned and the countdown to Miss America 2011 on ABC is on!

Speaking of…two huge announcements were made this month about the 2011 Pageant! Not only will be back in our Las Vegas home at Planet Hollywood for the 6th year in a row, but our host will be Chris Harrison from ABC’s The Bachelor! The details are starting to come out about our 90th anniversary, and I can’t wait to be a part of it. It’s going to be incredible!

This month I was invited to a very special event in my home state, the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts Jamboree. I was honored to speak to 40,000 young men who are committed to making our world a better place. I even met Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who flew in via helicopter! It was a fun event and I had a great time interacting with the scouts, who were so excited to meet Miss America!

From the Jamboree, I traveled to Fredericksburg to participate in my annual hometown Fair. I was a special guest at the Miss Fredericksburg Fair Pageant, a title I once held, so it was quite nostalgic for me. It was great to see some of my local pageant family and after a little taste of home, I flew to Florida to participate in events for the National Aids Fund for the Auxiliary to the National Medical Association. I spoke about my platform to about 200 teenagers who received scholarships to attend the youth forum. I was pleased to see that these teenagers were interested in spreading the message of HIV/AIDS prevention, as much as I am. I also had a chance to promote the jewelry I designed for the National Aids Fund at the trade show.

After Florida it was time for one of my favorite days of the year – Miracle Treat Day! Who doesn’t love enjoying Blizzards, and not feeling guilty about it? I helped the Children’s Miracle Network promote Miracle Treat Day by visiting a Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and handing out Blizzards to the children. It was an amazing feeling to bring smiles to these young people’s faces!

From Minneapolis I flew to Alabama to participate in a Joseph Ribkoff trunk show at Cricket by the Creek in Decatur. The surprise of the day was when one customer actually purchased 45 Ribkoff outfits! WOW! I also had an enjoyable time meeting up with Miss Alabama Ashley Davis and members of the Miss Alabama Organization for lunch. Since I travel so much, I look forward to these fun introductions and meeting up with my new friends.

After Alabama I flew to Atlantic City and was hosted by the Tropicana Casino Resort. I also visited the MAO office while I was there to say hello the National Staff! It’s always great to see my MAO family and to be back in AC where this great American tradition began.

Now, I’m off to Las Vegas to participate in an Airwaves event and launch our Miss America Apparel! Visit www.pageantees.com to buy your own apparel today. And this weekend, I’ll take a swing and participate in a golf tournament in Virginia. Next week is the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando! I can’t wait to meet all 53 of our newly crowned state titleholders and the Miss America Outstanding Teens. It will be a fun week ahead in the Sunshine State!

Warmest regards,
Caressa

Dear Friends,

Summer is in full swing and I am trying to keep cool during this incredible heat wave, while traveling 20,000 miles a month!

I traveled to Toronto, Canada, now that was a cool visit in so many ways, to visit with my wonderful wardrobe sponsor, The Joseph Ribkoff Company, and to help promote their new fall line. I was interviewed by eTalk Canada, which is like an Entertainment Tonight. It was such a fun interview! I also had the opportunity to host the Fall Preview event for Joseph Ribkoff, which highlighted the amazing new looks for fall. Stay tuned – I will be sporting these new looks. We even made time for a fun fashion photo shoot in this new collection!

After Canada, it was back to my home state for the Miss Virginia Pageant! Ahhh… it felt so good to be home again and back with my pageant family who helped me and who have supported me when I became Miss America. I was busy with rehearsals most of the week, but I made time to speak with all of the contestants, teen contestants and princesses. I loved meeting with them and telling them about my year so far. I hope I inspired some of the little princesses who dream of becoming Miss America one day! The Miss Virginia Organization produced an amazing show, and I was honored to be a part of it. I sang every night with my fellow Miss America, Heather French Henry, and had the opportunity to sing a few songs myself. The judges crowned a great Miss Virginia 2010 – Caitlin Uze! I wish her well in the competition this January, along with our other 52 fabulous newly crowned contestants. Thank you to Virginia’s Executive Director, Harlen Gudger, and all the Miss Virginia volunteers who made this the best pageant I have seen in YEARS!

From Virginia, I flew to Minnesota to participate in a DSW event at the Mall of America!! WOW – I could have spent a week there shopping! The mall is HUGE! And so is the DSW store! I was happy to sign some autographs, pose for pictures and chat with all of the shoe lovers. I even participated in some raffles for DSW gift cards. It was a great day.

For the 4th of July, I flew to America’s birthplace – Philadelphia – to participate in their festivities. It was absolutely amazing! My weekend was full of media interviews and events celebrating our country’s freedom and honoring our military, past and present, who protect us every day. I participated in an interview for some morning hits during Good Morning America, live at Independence Hall with Mayor Nutter, and even “Ben Franklin” and “Martha Washington” were there to help us all get into the spirit of the celebration! The interviews aired during weather segments hosted by GMA forecaster, Marisol Castro. It was so much fun!

Later that day I helped Mayor Nutter celebrate the 140th anniversary of Philadelphia’s Chinatown with a very special cake for all to enjoy. I also met Chinatown local council members and had the honor of awakening the eyes of one of their new “lions.” On Independence Day, I sang the National Anthem and “America the Beautiful” with the Keystone State Boychoir to kickoff the Freedom Ceremony. Afterwards, I participated in the 4th of July Parade down Benjamin Franklin Parkway by riding on a float with newly enlisted members of our military. I was incredibly honored to kick off the Wawa Welcome America! Concert, by singing the National Anthem. Just being on that stage in front of thousands of people gave me the chills! I’m so happy I got to celebrate our nation’s independence in the City of Brotherly Love! I really felt the love! You can watch my performance here!

Yesterday, I participated in an event with Amway for their Independent Business Owners in Idaho. It was so much fun spending time with my Amway family and I feel honored to be their spokesperson! This week, I’m in Atlantic City, to participate in the U.S. Tournament of Dance. And luckily it is being hosted at the Atlantic City Sheraton where I’ll get to see my winning gown being showcased in their lobby in their Miss America display area where some of my sister’s displays are open to the public for all to enjoy – I can’t wait to see it! I’m truly excited to be a part of this amazing tradition which all began here in the heart of Atlantic City in 1921!

I hope you all are enjoying your summer. It’s hot out there, so make sure you are keeping cool!

Warmest wishes,
Caressa

Dear Friends,

These past few weeks have flown by! I have traveled across country and back again, and show no signs of slowing up anytime soon!

I had so much fun in Arlington at an appearance for DSW. My Miss Arlington family showed up and some old friends I haven’t seen in a while, so it was like being home again! I had some fun then, took a couple videos while at DSW. You can see them on my Facebook page!

After the DSW appearance, I traveled to South Carolina to participate in events surrounding the visit of HRH The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and his annual Duke of Edinburgh Awards! If you have been keeping track with me on Facebook and Twitter you can see photos from the events. Some highlights included joining our MAO Board Chairman, Sam Haskell and HRH The Prince Edward and MAO President and CEO Art McMaster in handing out the Duke of Edinburgh Awards to the 70 Miss South Carolina Organization recipients. Also, I performed at the Miss SC Evening of Dreams Gala, as well as joined in the festivities for the Great Scot Parade and the Scottish Games. The whole weekend was incredibly exciting and HRH The Prince Edward was so gracious and very kind.

After meeting HRH The Prince Edward, it was off to sunny San Diego, where I participated in some exciting events with Amway’s brand, Nutrilite! I had a wonderful time promoting their Color Yourself Healthy program and their supplements for fruits and vegetables, which are available here. I even had the opportunity to attend the San Diego Padres game with Nutrilite, where I not only performed the National Anthem, but also performed “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch. You can find videos of both these performances on my Facebook page!

From San Diego I traveled to Long Beach, where I participated in the annual U.S. Army Ball with Miss California 2009 Kristy Cavinder. We had the opportunity to tour the VA Hospital and visit with the patients, which was such a memorable experience. I will never forget the war veterans I have come into contact with this year; they have impacted my life in more ways than they will ever know. At the Army Ball, I had the opportunity to perform “Hero” for all the soldiers and sang the National Anthem.

From California, I traveled to D.C. to accompany 55 very special Children’s Miracle Network ambassadors to the White House to meet the President of the United States on the annual trip presented by Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. These young “Champions,” who are living testaments to the medical care being provided at Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the country, and me had the opportunity to meet and shake hands with President Barack Obama! I had already shook his hand at the Nationals Game, but this time was much more memorable! American Idol runner-up, David Archuleta, also joined us and we had the privilege to sing for the children before they met the President! I’m thrilled to have been asked to spend some time with these wonderful children, get to know them and their families and help raise awareness for Children’s Miracle Network. These kids are true heroes and an inspiration to me.

After California I was really excited to travel to Las Vegas to help AirWaves launch their new Miss America branded apparel line at the 2010 International Licensing Expo. You can find out more information about the line here: www.missamericabrands.com While in Vegas, I also participated in a meet and greet at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. It was great being back at the venue where I was crowned almost five months ago!

From Vegas, I traveled to my home state to participate in the Airforce Cycling Classic in Arlington, Va. I started the races by singing the National Anthem and participated in the awards ceremony by handed out flowers to the winners. On Sunday, I visited the Air Force Memorial where I had a delightful time meeting with Air Force soldiers.

The start of summer is so lovely, and it makes me so excited to get out into the warm weather and enjoy nature! I’m such a fan of forests, parks – really, anywhere green where I can sit down and reflect on what a beautiful natural world we live in, and why it’s so important to appreciate and preserve it! I am loving the USDA Forest Service and the Ad Council’s Re-connecting Kids with Nature campaign, especially their wonderful site, Discover the Forest. They want to get kids back in nature, enjoying the great outdoors, having fun in forests, and learning to appreciate everything that’s wild and wonderful. Visit their website for great tips on how to encourage your kids to play outdoors, fun nature games, and lots more. The site features a wonderful nature finder tool where you can type in your zip code and find local forests and parks. Plus, make sure to fan Discover the Forest on Facebook for lots more information, and follow their friendly spokesanimal, Cheecker the Squirrel, on Twitter.

I’m currently in D.C. at the Nationals Association of Broadcasters Conference. This weekend I will be attending the Miss Pennsylvania Pageant. Good luck to all the contestants competing for state titles across the country this weekend - we wish you all success! I can’t wait to meet the Miss America Class of 2011!

Dear Friends,

The month of May has flown by so fast. I can’t believe it will already be June!

I had the most amazing experience of my life this month. For the first time, I was able to travel to Europe and spend five days in Germany where I visited U.S. military personnel and their families, spoke to U.S. school children attending Department of Defense schools, and spent time with our wounded warriors at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, which was incredible.

This was my first time traveling to Europe and I was so excited to have the opportunity to touch the lives of people whose bravery and commitment to our country continues to inspire me every day. I looked into the faces of so many young men, most who were my age, and I could not believe how overwhelming it was to be able to personally thank them for their sacrifices. While in Germany, I had the opportunity to speak with AFRICOM about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa and the work they were doing to combat the disease. This was very informative for me, as I travel the U.S., raising awareness of HIV/AIDS.

After my trip to Germany, although I admit, with a little jet lag, I traveled to San Antonio, Texas where I participated in Aquafina’s Family Fiesta Day, which was part of the Valero Texas Open. I spoke to a group of children about my journey to Miss America and also had a chance to speak with members of our military stationed in Texas. This was special to me, as I had a chance to share my story of visiting our troops abroad and to thank our military who are also serving right here in the U.S.

I also had so much fun working with our sponsor and participating in two DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse events this month in Chicago and Arlington, Va., where I got to meet many of my fans and promote DSW’s beautiful shoes. I was particularly excited because I had my eye on some open-toed pumps! These events are always so much fun because I get to meet people from all walks of life; all who have their own inspiring stories! It’s especially cute to see all the little girls involved in pageants with their little sashes and crowns who say “When I grow up, I want to be Miss America.” Adorable!

And just last weekend, I had the unique opportunity to conduct the Richmond Symphony at their Celebrity Maestro event. I was very nervous, as I have never conducted an orchestra before, but I had some practice with the conductor and felt ready to make my debut! I conducted “America the Beautiful,” and think I did a pretty good job! All in all it was a fun event that helped raise money for the Symphony and I know that was truly a once in a lifetime thrill!

I am sure by now you have all heard the exciting news that the 2011 Miss America Pageant will be back on ABC for our 90th anniversary! MAO and ABC agreed to a three-year deal which means Miss America will be on ABC through 2013! I am so excited to be able to celebrate 90 years of history with this organization and crown my successor on network television! Tune in January 15, 2011 on ABC… it will be an event that not only marks our milestone but will be an amazing show, too!!

I am currently in South Carolina where I will be participating in an exciting weekend with our Board Chairman, Sam Haskell and HRH Prince Edward!! I can’t wait to meet HRH Prince Edward. While in South Carolina I will also have the opportunity to speak at a youth rally to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. I know this too will be another memorable week for me!

Best wishes for an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend. Please give thanks to our veterans and our brave service men and women abroad on this holiday. I know I will be keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your continued support - I sincerely appreciate it.

Warmest wishes,

Caressa

Hello friends:

As the month of May soon approaches, already, I’ll be on my fifth month as your Miss America, and it feels like I was just crowned! I have been having so much fun and doing so many wonderful things; time is flying by!

I was so excited when I found out that I would be participating in the Washington Nationals Opening Day ceremonies. Since I used to work for the Washington Nationals, it was a great honor for me to be there and to catch up with some old friends. The day turned out better than I imagined! Not only did I get to shake hands with the President, but I also had the opportunity to perform “God Bless America” during the 7th inning stretch before a crowd of 41,290! Sadly, my Nationals lost to the Phillies, 11-1, but it was still an AMAZING day and one that I will always remember.

After D.C. I traveled to Atlanta, GA where I taped an episode of The Mo’Nique Show for BET, hosted by Academy Award winner, Mo’Nique. I was featured as a guest, along with actress, Jackie Harry and gospel singer, Shirley Caesar. After the show, Mo’Nique took time out to privately talk to me and wish me well. I am so inspired by her hard work and accomplishments, so I relished the moment. Look out for the tune-in alert for when I will be on the show! (Stay up to date with the latest information on my Facebook and Twitter pages!)

From Atlanta, I flew to D.C. where I appeared on Fox & Friends with morning co-host and Miss America 1989 Gretchen Carlson. Gretchen interviewed me about helping Dairy Queen celebrate the 25th birthday of the Blizzard and Dairy Queen’s 70th anniversary. It was a fun day where I got to hand out special mini-blizzards to the crowd. A portion of proceeds from all Blizzards sold on August 5, Miracle Treat Day, will go towards the Children’s Miracle Network.

After NYC, it was back to D.C. where I had the honor of being the Grand Marshall for the Annual Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. I also performed “Listen” during the parade and at the end of the parade I had the unique opportunity of sitting with the broadcasters to wrap up the show. I had a chance to catch up with our Outstanding Teen, and my little sister, Jeanette Morelan and also meet some celebrities, like former American Idol star Justin Guarini. It was a great day!

The next two weeks were so jam packed, they just flew by! The first week, I appeared on The 700 Club with co-host and Miss America 1973 Terry Meeuwsen, participated in the USO Annual Awards, and met hundreds of fans at a DSW Shoe Warehouse Store in Bethesda, MD and I even got to pick out more shoes to complement my wardrobe!

The next week was even busier! On Monday, I enjoyed a private lunch at Cafe Milano, hosted by MAO Board Member, Tammy Haddad, for media outlets from the D.C. area. After D.C. I traveled to NYC where I opened the 140 Characters Conference. This event was the largest worldwide gathering of people interested in the effects of real-time Internet on both business and “we” the people. Click here to watch me open the conference!

The next day I teamed up with Keep America Beautiful to promote Earth Day, and rang the closing bell at NASDAQ. That evening, I attended a gala event where Pepsi Co. and Waste Management announced their recycling initiative. The host for the evening was actress Aisha Tyler, and I was so excited to meet her!

Also, while in NYC, I celebrated the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and the annual Great American Cleanup effort in Times Square, where I helped launch Keep America Beautiful’s “Green Starts Here” rally. The Earth Day festivities included an appearance by Mayor Bloomberg, and a performance by Broadway stars, including the musical, Hair, which I was able to see that night.

Finally, on Friday I was back in D.C. to receive the prestigious Whitman Walker Award for my dedication to HIV/AIDS Awareness. What an honor to be recognized by my fellow HIV/AIDS Awareness peers. Wow! What a busy two weeks, but it was all worth it!

This weekend - I am singing at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Race in my home state and I always love going home!

And remember, if you want daily updates on what I’m doing, follow me on Twitter! I am now personally tweeting @MAOTravels!! You can also get Twitter updates from the Miss America Organization @MissAmericaLIVE.

Warmest regards,
Caressa

Hello Friends:

My first trip back home to Virginia was amazing! It was so good to see family and friends and I can’t believe how many strangers recognized me on the street, even without my crown!

The festivities began with a press conference and ceremonial crowning of Miss Virginia Chinah Helmandollar. Highlights of the day also included a visit to the Lincoln Terrace Elementary School, where I spoke to students and stressed the importance of always doing the right thing. I shared with them ways that they could make good choices that would positively affect their lives.

The next day, I made a visit to the Carilion Children’s Hospital to interact with the children and their parents. Following the hospital visit, Nancy and Kevin Dye provided a very elegant reception in their magnificent, mountain top home and I sincerely thank them for their generosity. With a breath taking mountain view, I was able to engage with all of the guests and share my appreciation with them for their support. Then, I was off to the Friday night Gala/Paparazzi Party at Taubman Museum of Art, where I spoke and sang a few songs. Miss America 1979 Kylene Barker and Miss America 1999 Nicole Johnson, along with other Miss Virginia’s from the past were on hand to help celebrate my homecoming – it was an amazing evening!

That Saturday, I spoke to a full room at the Shenandoah Club, which donated the proceeds to Children’s Miracle Network. Later that afternoon at the Hotel Roanoke, several hundred people came to receive my autograph, along with my Homecoming Court – Miss California Kristy Cavinder, Miss Louisiana Katherine Putnam and Miss Kentucky Mallory Ervin. The enthusiastic crowd was incredibly excited to meet us!
The gala event on Saturday was an event to be remembered. The amount of supporters there was overwhelming! I am so lucky to have such an awesome family and wonderful friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better Homecoming! A special thanks to Harlen Gudger, the Miss Virginia State Executive Director and his wife Vicki!

From Virginia I traveled to the Radio and TV Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. where I sat in the front row with Melinda Wittstock, the Capitol News Connection CEO. The event was very entertaining and Vice President Joe Biden’s speech was so funny! It was exciting to meet so many broadcasters and journalists since I would like to pursue a career in that field after my year of service.

The next few days I visited a DSW store in Atlanta, GA and a DSW store in Prestonwood, TX. I had a great time meeting all my fans and talking with them. And I always love spending time with my DSW family.

I am currently in New Orleans where Yesterday I visited the Children’s Hospital. This is an interesting area. Much is still not rebuilt, but those things which are….beautiful new high rise court house and municipal buildings. Many houses and restaurants, hotels have been beautifully redone, then some homes haven’t even been touched yet. I will be working on the rebuilding effort tomorrow with Keep America Beautiful in Pass Christian, Mississippi as a part of the Great American Cleanup. If you would like to get involved with the Great American Cleanup please visit their website!

I hope everyone is staying happy and healthy. Spring is finally here!

Warmest regards,
Caressa

Hello friends!

It’s already been 5 weeks since I was crowned and it only feels like days! I’ve been to nine different states so far, including Hawaii, and have seen two oceans!

I kicked off my role as the Goodwill Ambassador to the Children’s Miracle Network last month at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. After my tour of the hospital, I met with some of the patients in the arts and crafts room, who were eager to start making paper crowns! I can’t wait to meet more of these little champions across the country. I will carry their uplifting spirit throughout my year as Miss America.

From Philadelphia, I flew to L.A. to start working with IHOP to raise awareness for National Pancake Day. I started by visiting a local IHOP where I greeted and chatted with customers while a production company shot b-roll. The b-roll would be used to promote National Pancake Day. After the IHOP visit, I went to the Children’s Hospital of L.A. where I played with patients in the game room and made crafts with them. The day before National Pancake Day I participated in a tremendous satellite media tour with radio stations across the country to promote IHOP and Children’s Miracle Network. It was a long day, but it was worth it to get this important message out. On National Pancake Day, I appeared on KTLA’s morning show to promote the event and participated in a pancake tossing contest with the anchors, where I served as the referee. It was so much fun! After KTLA I visited the IHOP on Sunset Boulevard where I mingled with customers and demonstrated how to make pancakes for the media. I thank everyone who came out for National Pancake Day. With your donations, we were able to raise $2.1 million for Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities! IHOP also surpassed its goal to raise $5 million in five years, raising a cumulative $5.35 million since first celebrating National Pancake Day in 2006. Impressive!

After the delicious success of National Pancake Day, it was off to Hawaii with the Artistry Cosmetics/Amway Global team. I was so excited to spend some time with my official skincare and cosmetics sponsor, Artistry by Amway, and also because I’ve never been to Hawaii! I had a great time meeting with their Diamond Club members on the beautiful island of Maui and participating in promotional photo and video shoots that will be used during my year. The weather was perfect – I wish I could have stayed longer, especially after I felt that warm white sand between my toes!

After Hawaii, I flew to Michigan to work with Amway once again on Read Across America Day at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Amway graciously donated 200 books to the hospital and I had a great time reading them to all of the children! It was an absolutely amazing day. What I love , especially about children’s hospitals , is that they’re still kids. They’re still playing their Wii Games and they still have the energy to challenge their moms!

Now, I am currently in New York working with Artistry by Amway on a photo shoot. I’ll be here for the next few days participating in several media interviews and special meetings are also planned for me. I’ll fill you in later about the exciting events in the months ahead! If you are in the NYC viewing area on Monday, you can catch me on Good Day New York in the morning! I will also be appearing on Fox Business Channel’s America’s Nightly Scoreboard that night. Be sure to tune in!

Now, I look forward to my Homecoming and I can’t wait to see my family and friends! They have all been so supportive and I will look forward to sharing these special moments with you in the weeks ahead. Thank you for sharing in my journey….all the best.

Warmest wishes,
Caressa

Dear Friends,

I can’t believe last Saturday night I was crowned Miss America 2010 and my dream came true! I keep biting my lip to make sure I’m not dreaming and it is hard to believe that a week has gone by since that incredible moment of standing on stage with 52 incredible women, who I competed with and who helped to make my journey to Miss America so memorable!

As I flew to New York, it was truly a thrill to begin my week as Miss America with Regis and Kelly then to visit Fox & Friends, with Miss America 1989 Gretchen Carlson who interviewed me on Tuesday and offered her beautiful words of encouragement! I was then surprised when I was invited to appear on one of my favorite shows, the Wendy Williams Show, and had the opportunity to talk to Wendy - I loved it! I also did a segment with Inside Edition and they focused on the fact that I was bullied as a child, but came out of my childhood a stronger person for it!

The next day, I hopped on a plane (and yes, missed the blizzard in the Northeast- I will say- my timing is perfect!) and I went off to Superbowl XLIV! I was invited to be a part of the Taste of the NFL, which helps to support food for the homeless and raises the awareness to help those in our own country who are in desperate need of help. I was proud to support their efforts and hope that this year they surpass all of their goals!

Media outlets from around the country were present and I had wonderful national interviews such as ESPN radio, Yahoo Sports and Jamie Foxx’s radio show, and enjoyed a press conference with the Superbowl half-time performers, The Who. I met celebrities like Queen Latifah, Carrie Underwood, NFL stars like Roger Staubach and Joe Montana, and so many others that were on hand to support the The Taste of the NFL events.

On Sunday, the energy was in the air and the game was amazing. I feel blessed to be able to kick off my first week on the job as Miss America in such a wonderful way!

This week, I will be off to Ohio to meet with two of our new sponsors, DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, who already have me stepping out in style, and also American Signature Furniture! I am excited to meet with them and become familiar with their team and their products as I begin to travel the country and promote our sponsors on my tour.

In just another week, I will be off to visit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and begin my role as the Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network. It touches my heart to have such an incredible opportunity in front of me to touch the lives of these remarkable children- I am honored to be their ambassador and will look forward to meeting these children as I tour the country this year.

I would also like to thank my cosmetic and skincare sponsor, Artistry Cosmetics, exclusively from Amway Global for sponsoring our scholarships and also helping me to look my best this year! We sincerely appreciate your support! Also, from the moment I arrived in New York, I have been dressed in my fabulous new wardrobe that has been generously supplied by the Joseph Ribkoff Company- I thank you!

Please stay tuned and look for my updates! I have so many incredible moments ahead, and I hope that you will enjoy reading about them.

Thank you for your support of our program and I hope you enjoyed the 2010 Miss America Pageant- I can’t wait to see it myself! I am anxious to watch the talent segment again- I thought that it was such an incredible show- we hope you enjoyed it as well.

Warmest regards,
Caressa Cameron
